Police in Bushenyi District are investigating an altercation between employees of two bus companies that resulted in injuries.

The incident occurred in Ishaka town, where staff from Tausi and Global bus companies engaged in a physical confrontation.

Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident, identifying one victim and several suspects. Among them are Alex Gumisiriza, 41, manager of Tausi Buses and resident of Ishaka town; Isma Kaweesa, 28, a broker; Adam Aijuka, 29, a broker; Lawrence Bugembe, 27, a broker; William Akatwijuka, 45, a luggage supervisor and resident of Biharwe in Mbarara City; and Nicholas, Happiness, and Osbert, all employees of Global Buses.

The altercation allegedly took place on June 3, 2024, around 1:00 PM, when employees from both bus companies, stationed at Ishaka stage, engaged in a fight over passengers. The group of seven individuals claims to have been assaulted by Alex Gumisiriza, who also alleges that the same group attacked him.

Tumusiime noted that this is not the first conflict between the two groups, with several previous cases having been reported and suspects taken to court.
