Rubabo Boda Boda Emyooga SACCO has launched a football tournament to promote prosperity and mark the pre-annual General Meeting at the sub-county level.
The launch took place in Kebisoni Sub County with an opening match between Buyanja and Kebisoni Sub Counties at Rumbugu Playground. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout where Buyanja Sub County triumphed 4-2.
Buyanja Sub County has now secured a spot in the finals, where they will face the winner of the Nyakishenyi vs. Nyarushanje Sub County match. The final is scheduled to take place on March 20th during the Annual General Meeting.
Caleb Begumanya Kabayo, Chairperson of Rubabo Boda Boda Emyooga SACCO and Regional Chairperson of Boda Boda Emyooga SACCOs, emphasized that the tournament aims to foster unity, nurture talent, and raise awareness about SACCO’s financial products in preparation for the AGM.
Charles Atukwatse Karoli, Chairperson of Nyakishenyi Boda Boda Riders Association and Treasurer of Rubabo County Boda Boda Emyooga SACCO, expressed gratitude for the SACCO’s national recognition. He encouraged members to rely on their SACCO for financial support.
Julius Tumusime, Chairperson of Greater Buyanja Boda Boda Association, praised his team for their victory, appreciated Emyooga SACCO’s sponsorship, and expressed optimism about winning the tournament trophy.
Alex Kabangira, Chairperson of Kebisoni Sub County Boda Boda Riders Association, urged participants to maintain sportsmanship, avoid hostility after losses, and use the tournament to strengthen friendships and networks.
Rubabo Boda Boda Emyooga SACCO, headquartered in Nyarushanje Sub County, provides individual, group, and Boda Boda loans to members who hold shares in the SACCO.
