Rev. Canon Gershom Muhanga, the former North Kigezi Diocesan Secretary, has urged parents to prioritize early baptism for the spiritual well-being of their children.
He made this call on Wednesday, January 1, 2024, while presiding over a baptism and thanksgiving service organized by Alice Busingye Kajuri at Kashozi Church of Uganda, All Saints Church Parish, North Kigezi Diocese in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
Rev. Canon Muhanga emphasized the importance of baptism as the first sacrament, which offers salvation and protects children from sin, stressing that baptism can take place as early as 8 days old.
Zedekia Katono Karokora, the former Rukungiri District LC5 Chairperson and one of the godparents, expressed support for the growing number of youth aspiring for political positions in the upcoming general elections, praising their capabilities and enthusiasm for development.
Mr. Julius Kiiza, the Lay Reader at Kashozi Church of Uganda, commended Alice for her unwavering support in developing her church both financially and physically, highlighting the importance of church development for quality service delivery.
Alice Busingye Kajuri, a well-known second-hand clothing seller along Republic Road, Rukungiri Municipality, explained that she organized the thanksgiving service to express her gratitude to God for the joy of her beautiful and able grandchildren.
A total of 1,100,000 Ugandan Shillings was raised during the thanksgiving service to support church activities.
