The management committee, staff, Nyakibale Catholic Parish, and a few other stakeholders came together on Sunday to express their appreciation for Jane Neema’s dedicated service to Nyakibale Lower Primary School.

Neema, who recently retired as the deputy head teacher, reached the mandatory retirement age of 60.

The farewell mass at Nyakibale Lower Primary School, officiated by Rev. Fr Benjamin Tukamushaba, the parish priest of Katojo Catholic Parish, featured a sermon urging civil servants, particularly teachers, to fulfill their duties diligently.

Fr Benjamin emphasized that many government teachers receive salaries without meeting the expectations of their roles, highlighting the impact this negligence can have on learners’ futures and overall development.

Henry Byarugaba, the school head teacher, praised Neema as a hardworking, God-fearing individual who served as a positive example for both teachers and pupils.

In response, Jane Neema expressed gratitude to God for the lengthy period she dedicated to serving the nation. She affirmed her commitment to continuing support for education in her community by guiding those still in active service.
