Residents of Nyabihoko sub-county in Kajara County, Ntungamo District, are calling for increased security measures in their area. They report that unidentified individuals recently distributed threatening letters across various parts of Nyabihoko, causing fear among the residents.
The residents are urging the district security authorities to visit their locality and address this challenge promptly to safeguard lives. In response to these concerns, Atuhaire Rosemary, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Ntungamo, acknowledged the situation and assured that the RDC office has been informed and has initiated investigations.
She emphasized the importance of vigilance among all residents of Ntungamo and encouraged them to report any unfamiliar individuals visiting their communities. Collaboration between residents and authorities was highlighted as crucial in combating security threats.
Furthermore, Atuhaire cautioned against showing leniency towards individuals feigning insanity, as many criminals disguise themselves in this manner to endanger lives. She assured the residents of full support from security personnel, including the RDC, police, and the district internal security office, in thwarting any potential threats posed by harmful visitors.
