Residents of Ndago Parish in Nyarushanje Subcounty, Rukungiri District, are raising concerns over the deplorable state of the Kyanika–Kakomero–Kyimira Bridge, which has made transport difficult for locals.
The road, which has been in poor condition for a long time, has become a major challenge for boda boda riders and other motorists who struggle to transport their produce to markets.
Ndago Parish Councillor Asiimwe Asumpta thanked the area MP for Rubabo County for supporting the rehabilitation of the Ndago–Kyimira–Bwanga road, which was also in bad shape. She, however, called on district officials to urgently address the Kyanika–Kakomero–Kyimira road so that residents can easily access key services such as healthcare and education for school-going children.

Nyarushanje Subcounty Youth Councillor and Ndago resident, Nicholas Ainebyoona, echoed the same concerns, emphasizing that the road, which is under the district’s jurisdiction, has not been repaired for over two years.
He urged residents to work together with government authorities to protect the road infrastructure once repairs are completed, cautioning them against digging trenches that could allow rainwater to damage the road.

Speaking on the matter, Nyarushanje Subcounty LC3 Chairperson, Micheal Musiime, acknowledged the poor state of the road but reassured residents that repairs are scheduled for this financial year. He also thanked the Rubabo County MP for his efforts in working on the Ndago–Kyimira–Bwanga road, which had also been in bad condition.
