The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has urged Christians to live according to the example of Jesus Christ if they hope to inherit the Kingdom of God.
The Bishop made the remarks during a confirmation mass at Kakore Catholic Church Parish in Hamurwa Sub-county, Rubanda District, where 326 Christians were confirmed into the Catholic faith.
Bishop Rubaramira expressed concern over what he described as a growing gap between faith and action among Christians. He noted that while many profess the Christian faith, their daily conduct often contradicts its teachings, citing practices such as excessive drinking and gender-based violence as behaviors that betray God.
“Being a Christian is not just about words; it is about actions. We are called to follow Christ in both,” he emphasized.
He also encouraged Christians to use their God-given gifts to uplift others and contribute positively to their communities. The Bishop challenged the newly confirmed members, as well as the wider Christian community, to be a guiding light to others, stressing that after Baptism, it is the responsibility of Christians to keep the light of faith alive in their children.
