The Mitooma Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Francis Kibuuka Bazigatirawa, has urged farmers to support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s plan to move the oversight of coffee production to the Ministry of Agriculture to advance the industry.

Kibuuka shared this message on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the funeral service of Mzee Daniel Kasimbura, held at Rwankoora Church of Uganda Parish in Rwankoora Cell, Rwanda Parish, Bwongyera Sub County, Ntungamo District. He expressed his support for the Kazoora Foundation. Kibuuka praised Mzee Kasimbura for his dedication to religion, education, and agriculture, which he upheld for the benefit of his family. He acknowledged the ongoing public debate regarding the transfer of coffee oversight to the Ministry of Agriculture, emphasizing that President Museveni’s plans are intended to strengthen the industry, with the President having a comprehensive understanding of the sector.

Rev. Ivan Tayebwa, the Rwankoora Church of Uganda Parish Priest, praised Mzee Kasimbura for his devotion to his church, commitment to family, and strong faith. He also thanked the Kazoora Foundation for its generous donation of 100 bags of cement and glass for four windows toward the completion of the church’s new building, which is nearing completion within one year.

Arthur Atuhweirire Kazoora, Managing Director of the Kazoora Foundation and a parliamentary candidate for Ruhinda South County, commended Mzee Kasimbura for his invaluable guidance, support for education, and promotion of homestead projects through hard work.

Kabeho John, a councilor for Ntungamo District representing Rubaare, thanked the clergy for their role in the church’s growth. He mourned Mzee Kasimbura as a dedicated coffee farmer and a community builder who contributed to constructing schools and churches.

Kenneth Muhangi Mushana, a parliamentary candidate for Kajara County, recognized Mzee Kasimbura as a patriotic Ugandan and urged people to avoid divisive politics.

Charles Kusingura, Superintendent of Police, and Mzee Kasimbura’s eldest son remembered his father as a human rights advocate, an educationist, and a responsible parent.

Mzee Daniel Kasimbura passed away at the age of 102. He is survived by 13 children, 59 grandchildren, 104 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
