Politicians in Ndorwa West County, Kabale District have united with the aim of unseating the incumbent Member of Parliament, David Bahati, in the 2026 general elections.

Speaking to the youth during a friendly football match between Katuna Town Council and Kamuganguzi Sub County, organized by local youth at St. Janan Luwum Memorial Secondary School in Kyonyo Parish, Katuna Town Council, Simon Agaba and Eliab Naturinda, a lawyer and CEO of PHLEB Associated Advocates, criticized Bahati’s long tenure in office. They argued that Bahati has served long enough and should allow new leadership to emerge in the area.

Agaba urged the youth to focus on defeating Bahati in the upcoming elections and to stay vigilant against vote rigging, which he claims has been a persistent issue. He called on the youth to either support his candidacy or that of Mporera to overcome the political discord that has plagued the area. Agaba stressed the need for better leadership and encouraged the youth to campaign against Bahati and rally voters to choose new leaders.

Mporera supported Agaba’s position, urging the youth to avoid politics of hatred and instead mobilize, support, and vote for leaders who will address their concerns.

Both Agaba and Mporera have announced their intention to run for the Ndorwa West parliamentary seat, which Bahati has held since 2006.
