Police in Rubanda District are investigating the suspected murder of a 68-year-old woman who was found dead under unclear circumstances.
The deceased, identified as Nancy Tindimurira, a resident of Rwaburengyere Village, Mushanje Parish in Ikumba Sub County, was discovered lifeless down a valley at Nyakihita Cell on the morning of October 28, 2025.
According to Frank Ahumuza, the LC II Chairperson of Mushanje, a report of suspected murder was filed at police after the body was recovered. Detectives recorded statements from witnesses, and a postmortem examination revealed that the deceased had a deep wound on the head, suggesting possible foul play.
The territorial police in Rubanda have since launched inquiries to establish the exact cause of death and apprehend any suspects connected to the incident.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the investigation, noting that police are treating the case as a suspected murder.
