A murder investigation has been launched in Rubanda District following the discovery of a body with visible injuries in Katungu village, Nyamiyaga ward, Bubare Town Council.
According to Tibemanya Nyansio, a 52-year-old resident of the area, the deceased, Byomugabe Narisensio, aged 52, was found dead on the morning of December 25th, 2024.
Locals reported that on the night of December 24th, around 11:00 PM, the deceased was seen lying along the road in a drunken state by individuals walking home from a nearby church.
The following morning, at approximately 7:00 AM, Madala, a local boda boda rider, discovered Narisensio’s lifeless body near his house and alerted the community.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officials observed injuries to the deceased’s chest and back, with broken ribs on the left side.
A postmortem examination was conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The suspect remains unidentified as investigations continue.
The police are urging the public to provide any relevant information as the inquiry proceeds.
