The Member of Parliament for Kashari North, Mbarara District, Hon. Bataringaya Bazil Rwankwene, has urged the public to reflect on the accomplishments of current political leaders and give due credit as the political season draws near.
Speaking to a large congregation during the Christmas Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Rubindi Catholic Parish, Mbarara Archdiocese, Hon. Bataringaya emphasized the importance of appreciating the progress made under the current leadership. The mass was led by the curate of St. Joseph’s Rubindi Parish, Rev. Fr. Julius Caesar Kamukama.
Hon. Bataringaya highlighted key achievements in the Kashari North constituency, including the extension of clean water services, the construction and rehabilitation of public facilities in health, education, and religious institutions, all of which have significantly contributed to the socio-economic transformation of the community.
He appealed to both serving political leaders and prospective candidates to refrain from using misleading or abusive language that could damage others’ reputations. Instead, he called for constructive and informative communication that guides the public toward electing wise and responsible leaders capable of delivering meaningful development.
Hon. Bataringaya underscored that in the NRM leadership, achievements should be recognized as a collective effort, involving leaders from the grassroots (Local Council 1) to the highest levels. Failures, he added, should not be blamed on individuals but rather addressed collectively to foster unity and progress.
As the year comes to an end, Hon. Bataringaya encouraged the public to begin 2025 with a renewed focus on economic transformation. He urged citizens to embrace government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) to enhance household incomes and improve livelihoods.
Rev. Fr. Julius Caesar Kamukama, during his sermon, advised parents to provide genuine and supportive care and guidance to their children. This, he noted, is essential for fostering proper physical and spiritual growth, ensuring the development of responsible citizens who can sustain peace and stability in the nation.
