The South Ankole Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, has urged leaders to honor humble beginnings and avoid pride, emphasizing that such modest starts often grow into impactful ventures capable of transforming the world.
While delivering his sermon during the Christmas service at St. Matthew Cathedral, Kyamate, the Bishop reflected on the birth of Jesus Christ. He noted that although initially disregarded and resisted, the message of Jesus spread rapidly across the world, becoming a mission that has profoundly changed lives.
He explained that when something holds true value, its origin or circumstances of birth do not limit its potential. Just as Jesus was born humbly in the small and initially obscure town of Bethlehem, His life and mission grew to become the most significant story in history, transforming the world.
The Bishop also addressed the pitfalls of pride that often accompany the accumulation of wealth, cautioning against disrespecting individuals based on their social status. He highlighted that ideas or individuals that may appear insignificant today can lead to monumental change if nurtured and given attention.
He called upon the congregation to embrace salvation, emphasizing that the true essence of Christmas is the rebirth and renewal of souls.
Later in the service, Ntungamo Municipality Member of Parliament, Yona Musinguzi Bikwasizehi, commended Bishop Nathan for being a role model in fostering economic growth and improving household incomes.
