Kabale, Uganda – Police in Kabale are actively searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 24-year-old pedestrian, Banabas Yesari, a resident of Rubanda District. The incident occurred on the evening of October 3, 2024, at around 8:00 PM along the Mbarara-Kabale road in Kabaraga.
According to reports, an unidentified vehicle struck Yesari, fatally injuring him. Authorities were notified, and police quickly responded to the scene. The area was inspected, documented, and the body was transported to Kabale Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
The police are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the vehicle involved in the accident, urging anyone with knowledge to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed that inquiries are ongoing to ensure justice is served.
