Today, Friday, October 4th, 2024, private and government-aided primary schools in Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri District, received a set of examination tests supplied by the Sub County to boost performance.

Buyanja Sub County supplies these annual examination tests as part of a revenue-sharing initiative to combat examination leakage, aiming to achieve quality results in the Uganda Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

Agaba Emmy Rubondo, the LC3 Chairperson of Buyanja Sub County, commended the Council for their support in sustaining high-quality results. He urged parents to stop depending on free services and to contribute willingly, as resolved in PTA general meetings, to facilitate the purchase of learning materials, including adequate examination tests for quality education, since the government cannot provide enough resources.

Edson Ndinguse, the councilor representing the elderly and secretary of social services, expressed his gratitude for the excellent results in recent examinations. He encouraged the beneficiaries to maintain ethical standards in administering the tests and ensure that results are returned on time for evaluation and inspection.

Salary Beinomugisha, the head teacher of Nyakiju Primary School and chairperson of head teachers in the Sub County, praised the initiative. He highlighted that the preparation of learners has led to excellent results in recent years, helping Buyanja Sub County excel within the district.

Robert Bakutana, the head teacher of Kagati Primary School, also appreciated the provision, noting that it has increased learner enthusiasm. He assured the public of good management of the examinations.

Joseph Nuwabiine Gahwire, the head teacher of Ibumba Primary School, emphasized the importance of separating the examinations from any form of malpractice. He committed to administering the tests according to the set schedule and returning the results for proper evaluation.

The examinations will take place on Monday and Tuesday of next week, and the results will be returned to the Sub County headquarters by Friday for review and verification.
