The police in Kisoro are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an 83-year-old individual named Claveri Sekalema.
Mr. Sekalema was originally from Kabaya village, Gasovu parish, Nyarusiza sub-county in Kisoro district, but he possessed documents indicating that he had been residing in Mpigi district.
According to reports, on the 31st of October 2023, at approximately 07:00 hours, Mr. Sekalema was discovered lying by the roadside in Kadama village. The discovery was made by a person named Paul Habimana, who promptly reported the incident to the Muramba Police Post. Law enforcement personnel responded to the call and subsequently informed Kisoro Central Police Station.
The scene was thoroughly examined, documented, and statements were obtained from relevant witnesses. The deceased’s body was then transported to the mortuary at Kisoro hospital for a postmortem examination. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
