Police in Rukungiri District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a middle-aged man named Byarugaba Narasi. His body was discovered Tuesday morning in Omukikunika trading center, located in Kyaruyenje Parish, Buhunga Sub County, Rukungiri District.
Byarugaba Narasi, who resided in Rwamukono Cell, Kyaruyenje Parish, Buhunga Sub County, Rukungiri District, worked as a casual laborer in the area.
It is suspected that Byarugaba Narasi’s death may be linked to alcohol consumption, as he was known to be an excessive drinker and was found lying by the roadside.
Twinomugisha Posiano, the Chairperson of LC1 Rwamukono Cell, suggested that Byarugaba Narasi’s demise was likely due to his excessive alcohol intake, mentioning that he had sold off his belongings and was currently struggling to survive, resorting to fetching water for sustenance.
As of now, the homicide police have not issued any official statement, as they are awaiting the results of their investigation.
