As Kabale Municipality prepares for the upcoming LC IV elections, candidates from the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) are positioning themselves as champions of social justice and community-driven development. With nominations concluded, the party is presenting a mix of experienced leaders and fresh voices ready to reshape local governance.

Conald Kimonge Tumuheirwe, the PFF candidate for LC IV Councilor representing Bugongi Lower, was officially nominated at Kabale District Headquarters, Rukiko Hall. Tumuheirwe pledged to be a direct voice for residents, bridging the gap between the municipal council and the community.

Highlighting the critical role of young people in shaping Kabale’s future, he emphasized that meaningful youth participation is essential for building inclusive policies and sustainable local development. Tumuheirwe also took a firm stance on political inclusivity, criticizing the sidelining of opposition voices and stressing the need for alternative perspectives in leadership.

Despite facing past controversy—having been among 36 PFF members arrested in Kisumu, Kenya, last November on terrorism charges—Tumuheirwe remains a committed advocate for youth empowerment and community progress.

Clare Ahimbisibwe, contesting the Woman Councillor LC IV seat for Central Division, is taking on the incumbent, Kedrace Mutabazi, who has held the position for two decades. Ahimbisibwe promises a platform rooted in freedom, equity, and equal opportunity, pledging to tirelessly represent the interests of all residents in Central Ward.

Meanwhile, Bosco Nkwasibwe, popularly known as Onzarire Omwana and the current LC IV Councilor for Central Ward, has been nominated to defend his seat. Nkwasibwe’s tenure has seen tangible community improvements, including the establishment of Rutooma Health Centre III, the construction of Rushaki Bridge, upgrades in road infrastructure, and new street lighting. He reaffirmed his commitment to service delivery and bringing government programs closer to residents.

The nomination exercise for municipality mayors, LC IV chairpersons, councillors, and special interest group representatives began on 8th September and concluded on 10th September, setting the stage for a competitive election season. With a mix of fresh energy and experienced leadership, PFF candidates are positioning themselves as catalysts for change in Kabale Municipality, promising a future of inclusive governance and community-driven development.
