Despite ongoing insecurity in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the security situation on the Ugandan side remains calm, with tourism activities in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the Ishasha sector proceeding smoothly. Visitors to these regions are enjoying the unique wildlife experiences, including sightings of climbing lions, herds of buffalo, antelope, and other animals in Ishasha. Bwindi continues to attract tourists eager to participate in gorilla tracking, with their safety ensured by the security forces.

The influx of refugees into Uganda through Kisoro and Kanungu persists, as the country maintains its support for those fleeing conflict. Currently, 98 Congolese policemen, along with their 16 family members, totaling 114 individuals, remain in Uganda. They are safe and not under detention, with their situation being managed diplomatically between the Governments of Uganda and the DRC.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, with heightened vigilance from border communities and stakeholders. Major Kiconco Tabaro, the Public Information Officer for the UPDF 2nd Infantry Division, assured that security in the affected regions remains a top priority, and efforts are in place to ensure ongoing stability and safety for both locals and tourists.
