Mbarara district RDC Mr. Emmanuel Turyabagyenyi Kateera has revealed that with social economic transformation in Uganda through funded government programs, each parent can contribute towards the development of the school.
Turyabagyenyi made the remarks on Tuesday while presiding over the commissioning of two classroom blocks at Amabaare primary school in Nyabisirira Parish Kashare sub-county and Omukigando Primary School in Itara Parish Rubaya sub-county Kashari North Mbarara district.
RDC Turyabagyenyi commended the existing good working relationship between the district political leaders and technical staff with the office of the Resident District Commissioner RDC which has spearheaded a tangible social-economic transformation.
The chairperson of Mbarara district Tabaro Didus Tumwesigye requested the parents to make necessary financial contributions as agreed during school meetings to induce teachers to teach their children who will perform better to increase school enrollment.
He explained that as agreed upon by the parents and teachers in annual general meetings the decisions must be respected.
He requested the head teachers in the district not to chase pupils from schools for school fees but rather encourage parents to pay in time for the benefit of their children since education is a long-lasting investment.
