Over shillings 60 million was on 13/18/22 collected at the victory and thanksgiving ceremony organised by Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa the Rukungiri municipality legislator at Rukungiri main stadium
The function was aimed at fundraising for street lights which will be installed along different streets of Rukungiri town.
Before the function Hon. Dr. Rutahigwa handed over 100 iron sheets and 20 kg of iron sheet nails to Kitimba primary school in western division Rukungiri municipality and later he also commissioned Kakonkoma-Nshure road in Kanyinya ward, Southern division Rukungiri Municipality
He was accompanied by the Rukungiri resident district commissioner Stephen Nsubuga Bewayo.
Hon Elisa Rutahigwa thanked people for overwhelmingly voting for him and he promised to work towards development of the municipality
He narrated that he started contesting for the seat in 2010 but he has been losing up to 2021 when people entrusted him with their mandate .
The speaker of parliament Rt Hon Anita Annet Among who was represented by Security Minister Rtd Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi urged Rukungiri municipal residents to support the NRM party saying it is the only the party that has a development agenda
Hon Medius Kaharata the Rukungiri woman MP thanked Dr Rutahigwa for the initiative of fundraising for street lights and she contributed shillings 1 million towards the cause
The thanks giving ceremony was led by Bishop Patrick Tugume Tusingwire the caretaker bishop of North Kigezi diocese.
Speaker Among contributed 20 million cash and Jim Muhwezi contributed 7 million in addition to over 20 million that was contributed by Members of Parliament
to support the ruling polity because its only the party that has agenda for developing this country and opposition has no mission and vision for Ugandans .
