Kashenyi Primary School in Ruhinda Subcounty, Rukungiri District, was filled with joy and celebration as 34 pupils successfully graduated from the nursery section to Primary One. The colorful ceremony was presided over by Anthony Amperize Rutare, the Rukungiri District Inspector of Schools and In-charge of Pre-Primary, who served as the Chief Guest.

In his remarks, Mr. Rutare applauded the nursery teachers for their dedication in shaping the young learners and laying a strong academic foundation. He noted that pupils trained at Kashenyi perform better than those who join directly from the village without early childhood education. He further assured parents that teachers are committed to helping learners recover the time lost during the recent industrial action, promising improved performance as the new academic year approaches.

Mr. Rutare also encouraged parents to consistently support the school by bringing their children for enrollment, emphasizing the school’s professional teaching staff and learner-friendly environment. He congratulated the headteacher for his cooperation with parents, which has resulted in remarkable improvements in the school’s infrastructure. He also revealed that the school now holds a government-approved license for its pre-primary section.

PTA Chairperson John Magezi commended the headteacher and staff for transforming the school and promoting good discipline among learners. He thanked parents for trusting the school with their children and urged them to continue supporting the institution by returning with even more children next year.

Nursery coordinator Phionah Gumoshabe expressed gratitude to the school administration for the unwavering support given to the nursery section. She praised parents for providing essential requirements such as fees and meals, which enabled the children to successfully complete their nursery journey.

Headteacher Enock Ahebwe thanked the school management committees, parents, and the Kashenyi Archdeaconry for their close cooperation in raising the school’s standards, especially in the nursery department. He encouraged parents to mobilize others who did not attend the ceremony to bring their children to Kashenyi, noting that the school has maintained strong academic performance, including first-grade results in PLE over the last two years.

The graduation marks another milestone in Kashenyi Primary School’s commitment to offering quality education and nurturing confident learners prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.
