Officials in Kabale District have urged the government to consider constructing a theater to enhance the functionality of Kakomo Health Center IV in Mwendo Parish, Kitumba Sub County, Ndorwa West County.
This appeal was made during the official handover of an ambulance donated to Ndorwa West County by the Ministry of Health, aiming to improve the referral process for medical emergencies, particularly benefiting mothers in labor and addressing critical cases in the region. The handover ceremony occurred at Kakomo Health Center IV in Mwendo Parish, Kitumba Sub County.
During the ceremony, Alfred Besigensi, Kabale District Health Educator, Health Officer Dr. Gilbert Arinaitwe Mateeka, and Principal Secretary Gordon Manzi highlighted the importance of making Kakomo Health Center IV fully operational. They stressed the need for a theater to expand healthcare services for the community and called on State Minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, David Bahati, to use his lobbying skills to secure funding for the theater’s construction.
In response, Minister Bahati, who also serves as the area Member of Parliament, assured the authorities that he had already discussed the matter with the Minister of Health. He revealed that funds would be allocated in the upcoming financial year to build a theater and operationalize Kakomo Health Center IV. Dr. Gilbert Mateeka specified that the donated ambulance would be stationed at Rubaya Health Center IV in Lyakarimira town council.
