Leaders, residents, and health workers at Nyamiko Health Facility were filled with joy on Friday as they received medical equipment worth 24 million Ugandan shillings.

The equipment, which includes hospital beds and wheelchairs, was procured using funds from both local revenue and the central government.

While handing over the equipment, Bushenyi District Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Williams Donanto Katsigazi emphasized the need for residents to focus on poverty eradication now that the health facility is well-equipped. He urged families to seek ways to improve their livelihoods, aligning with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government’s goal of achieving both development and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality Mayor Richard Byaruhanga credited the municipality’s progress to a strong working relationship between the technical team, led by the town clerk, and the political leadership. He noted that effective financial management has enabled the municipality to undertake various development projects.

Municipal Town Clerk Silvelio Mukobi Byarufu explained that the funds used for procuring the equipment came from both local and central government sources. He highlighted that over the past three years, the municipality has prioritized education, health, revenue management, and infrastructure development. Of the 24 million spent, the municipality contributed 17 million, while the central government provided 7 million.
