The Lions club of Ntungamo has embarked on a move to awaken the spirit of voluntary service to enhance sanitation in Ntungamo municipality by engaging leaders and residents in general cleaning of the town.
The Lions on Friday participated in cleaning of the main streets and drainages in the centre of Ntungamo town a move that also saw municipal authorities and, top politicians and businessman involved.
Students from Kyamate secondary school and Ntungamo high school were also engaged.
The lions club also changed leadership electing Lion Kazoora Venantious as the new club president for the new Lions year 2022/2023 replacing Lion Emmanuel Byamukama.
The Ntungamo resident district commissioner Mucunguzi Geoffrey, a member of the Lions club and chief cleaner at the function said engaging the youth and leaders was a clarion call to have the activities emulated in real life.
