Supporters of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Masya Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County, Rukungiri District, have criticized the leadership of Rukungiri District NRM Chairperson Hon. Minister Jim Muhwezi for failing to launch their association.
Hon. Minister Jim Muhwezi, the Minister for Security, Member of Parliament for Rukungiri County, and Rukungiri District NRM Chairperson, was invited today, Wednesday, 17th July 2024, to launch their association, inaugurate the new reflectors for the NRM party, and officially open the Masya Development SACCO. However, he dodged launching the association, despite the investments made in the launching ceremony.
Eliasaph Baryayebwa, the treasurer of Masya NRM supporters, attributed the mishap to the personal assistants of Hon. Minister Jim Muhwezi, accusing them of acting self-important and influencing the program.
Wilson Karimugisha, the NRM Chairperson of Masya Parish, expressed concern, stating that their main objective was to launch the association to counter the opposition. Unfortunately, the association was not launched, and he proposed a meeting soon.
Despite this, Hon. Minister Jim Muhwezi officially opened the Masya Development SACCO, purchased shares worth 5 million, inaugurated 47 new members, advised SACCO authorities to research and avoid mistakes that could lead to a decline, and advocated for further mobilization.
Obed Mwesigwa Mayanja, delivering the Board Chairperson’s message, explained the challenges they face and assured their commitment to growth.
