Mbarara District Chairperson, Tabaro Didas, has officially announced to the parents and teachers of Kyamatambarire Primary School that the district will reward the school with ten million shillings for excelling in the 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). He clarified that the funds will be used to renovate some of the school’s dilapidated buildings, starting with the administration block, as part of efforts to improve the school infrastructure.
During a function held at Kyamatambarire Primary School in Rubaya Sub County, Kashari South, Mbarara District, Tabaro urged parents to show love and encouragement by visiting their children at school and engaging with their teachers. He explained that such interactions help build strong relationships, leading to a better understanding of the children’s behavior and performance, ultimately aiding in academic achievement and maintaining discipline.
The event was attended by local council leaders, school management, parents-teacher association members, and headmaster Benon Kasigaire. District Education Officer Deo Muhwezi and District Secretary for Social Services Kansiime Abraham Manigye were also present.
Mbarara District Councilor representing Rubaya Sub County, Hon. Loydah Twinomujuni Kyarikunda, urged parents to prioritize and invest in their children’s education over luxuries. She committed to supporting the development of Kyamatambarire Primary School, praising its excellent academic performance and discipline as a rural universal primary education school.
Mrs. Twinomujuni Kyarikunda also pledged to continue lobbying the government to ensure the entire sub-county has access to safe water. While waiting for a larger water project, she promised to provide a rainwater harvesting tank soon.
