D-COMN-KABALE
The newly substantively appointed Kabale District Natural Resources officer, Henry Tumwesigye, yesterday officially assumed office.

Tumwesigye, takes over office from Adios Kyomukama, who has been in the office as acting District Natural Resources officer-DNRO, since February 2022, after the former DNRO, Dr Rogers Akatwijuka transferred his services to Kabale University.

Tumwesigye, was recently appointed the District Natural Resources officer and his appointment was confirmed in a letter dated 27th July 2022 and signed by the Kabale district service commission secretary,Edison Twinomugisha.

Speaking at his handover that took place in the DNRO’s office on Makanga hill, Tumwesigye, noted that he envisions a district, where
community members are sustainably exploiting natural resources for socio-economic growth and development.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Makerere University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project planning and
Management, a Master’s Degree in Project Planning and Management and a certificate in energy and climate change Management from Tearfund Switzerland.

He also boasts of 15 years of Natural Resources Management in Uganda Tumwesigye, has previously worked in different organizations like Kinkiizi Intergrated Rural Development program, Kick Corruption out of Uganda, Church of Uganda-Church world Service-Africa, Natural Uganda and FIDA-Uganda.
