Authorities in Mitooma District are currently in pursuit of assailants responsible for the tragic murder of a 38-year-old woman under mysterious circumstances.
The incident occurred in Nyakaziba village, situated within Katenga Sub County, Mitooma District, as confirmed by Martial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi police. The victim, identified as Naturinda Mones, aged 38, was a resident of Nyakaziba village in Igambiro Parish, Katenga Sub County, Mitooma District.
According to reports, on the 21st of April 2024, residents who had ventured to cut grass along the Nyamirembe River stumbled upon a decomposing body. Bonifence Tumuhairwe, aged 55 and serving as the chairman of LC.1 in Nyakaziba village, Igambiro Parish, noted that the deceased would often leave home without informing anyone, purportedly to attend prayers in Bushenyi District, returning after three days.
Tumusiime further elaborated that the victim’s handbag, containing her national identification card and a mobile phone, was discovered at the scene. Additionally, he mentioned that the postmortem examination was conducted on-site by Dr. Oloya Patrick of Mitooma Health Center IV.
