Minister Chris Baryomunsi, who serves as both the Minister for ICT and National Guidance and as a Member of Parliament for Kinkizi East, attributed the poor service delivery in the constituency to the district leadership, particularly pointing out the Chairperson LC5, Sam Kajojo, for negligence in their duties.

Speaking at the launch of the Kihanda NRM Nyekundire group in Kihanda Sub-county, Kanungu District, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the LC5’s tendency to shift blame onto the Member of Parliament instead of addressing their responsibilities.

Minister Baryomunsi urged the district leadership to promptly allocate funds earmarked for public services in Kanungu, emphasizing that delaying these funds only exacerbates the suffering of the people. He underscored the importance of unity and collaboration within NRM Nyekundiire groups, highlighting their role in various developmental aspects such as agriculture, savings, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Encouraging members to continue supporting the NRM and recruit others into their groups, Minister Baryomunsi emphasized the collective effort needed for both individual and national progress. He commended those who have embraced the initiative, urging others to join hands for the betterment of their families and the country.

Juliet Bahati, Chairperson of the NRM Nyekundire groups for Kinkizi East, expressed appreciation to President Museveni and Minister Baryomunsi for the initiative, citing the tangible benefits experienced by members, particularly through group savings. She encouraged those not yet involved to join and partake in the advantages offered by these groups.

Godfrey Karabenda, the NRM Chairperson for Kanungu District, urged the residents to embrace the concept of NRM Nyekundire groups as a catalyst for accelerated development. He emphasized the need to understand the purpose of these groups and utilize them effectively in areas such as cooperatives, small businesses, agriculture, and the informal sector.

Karabenda addressed existing biases against the initiative, urging skeptics to recognize its potential for personal and communal prosperity.
