Police in Rubirizi District are currently investigating the mysterious death of Aaron Anyine, a 29-year-old secondary school teacher at Ndekye Secondary School. Anyine, a resident of Kasharara 1 cell in Nyakasharu ward, Rubirizi Town Council, Rubirizi District, was discovered lifeless in his rented room.
The Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Marcial Tumusiime, confirmed the incident. Anyine, originally from Nshozi cell in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, Bushenyi District, reportedly began experiencing severe headaches on 19/11/2023. On 20/11/2023, he went about his day as usual, teaching students, marking exams in the staff room, and having lunch with his fellow teachers.
Isaac Turyasingura, a 26-year-old colleague and resident of Kasharara 1 cell, Nyakasharu ward, Rubirizi Town Council, recounted that the deceased informed him around 5:00 PM on the 20th that he was suffering from a severe headache.
The next morning, 21/11/2023, the school bursar contacted Turyasingura, as the deceased was not answering his phone. Upon reaching Anyine’s residence and receiving no response to repeated knocks, Turyasingura discovered the deceased’s abnormal reply. Resorting to alternative means to open the door, he found Anyine dead.
According to Tumusiime, the police found the body lying on a bed in the deceased’s room. Anyine was undressed on a mattress covered with a multicolored blanket. There was bloody mucus with bubbles emanating from both the mouth and nose. The body has been taken to Rugazi Health Center IV mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
