Chahafi Health Center IV in Kisoro district is facing challenges in transporting patients to referral hospitals due to the absence of an ambulance. Innocent Irankunda Kagyenza, the district councilor for Murora sub county, highlights that since the health center was upgraded from a Health Center III to a Health Center IV, they have been without an ambulance. Consequently, the transportation of patients to referral hospitals such as Kisoro and Mutolere has been severely impacted.

Irankunda notes that patients and their families have had to arrange and finance their own means of transport, primarily relying on motorcycles (Boda-Bodas) and taxis to convey patients to the referral hospitals.

Addressing the issue, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwiine, assures that Chahafi Health Center IV will soon receive a new ambulance to facilitate and enhance the referral services provided by the health center.
