Leaders in Kanungu district, led by the district chairperson Eng Sam Arinitwe Kajojo, have announced the commencement of preparations for the Kigezi region Mk movement team-building function. The event is scheduled to take place this week on Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Kanungu district playground.

During a preparatory meeting at the Kanungu district council hall, various stakeholders, including local government leaders, religious figures, and opinion leaders, gathered to discuss arrangements for the function, which is expected to draw thousands of participants.

Eng Sam Arinitwe Kajojo expressed gratitude to the Mk movement for selecting Kanungu district as the host for the entire Kigezi region. He urged leaders and the entire Kanungu and Kigezi community to actively engage in pre-activities to ensure a significant turnout on the day of the event. Kajojo highlighted that the team is focused on organizing aspects such as catering, entertainment, and preparations for both local and national visitors to guarantee the success of the function.

Frank Byaruhanga, the Kanungu district speaker, emphasized the significance of hosting such a function, considering that their district has often been overlooked for national and regional events. He sees this opportunity as a potential turning point for the district to demonstrate its capability in hosting large-scale functions. Byaruhanga encouraged the community to participate in large numbers and absorb the message conveyed by the Mk movement.

Ambrose Kibuka, the chairperson of Mk movement in the Kigezi region, leading the team-building activities in Kanungu district, reported that mobilization activities are already underway. They have engaged with youth leaders, district officials, religious leaders, opinion leaders, and the business community.

Additionally, there will be a kasiki in Rukiga district on Thursday as part of the ongoing efforts to mobilize people in the Kigezi region.
