Authorities in Rubanda are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Aloysius Arinanye, a 22-year-old resident of Bugandara in Igomanda parish, Hamurwa sub-county, Rubanda district. The discovery of his body took place on the 28th of December 2023, approximately at 07:00hrs, along Bugandara Mukashekya road near a road junction.
According to reports, John Akankwasa, a 50-year-old individual, stumbled upon the body while heading to the garden at around 07:00hrs on the same day. He promptly identified the deceased as Aloysius, the son of the late Karyoko from Bugandara village. Akankwasa informed relatives, including the local area chairman, Adonia Kanzeyo, who subsequently reported the incident to the police.
The crime scene was visited and documented by Deputy Superintendent Arinaiwe Frank, the district Criminal Investigation Department officer, and his team. A postmortem examination was conducted, and the body was later released to the family for burial.
As of now, no arrests have been made. The investigation has revealed that the deceased was last seen at a bar in Mukashekye town center around 20:00hrs, a significant distance from his home. Ongoing inquiries are aimed at shedding light on the events leading to Aloysius Arinanye’s untimely death.
