Residents of Kakabano cell in Upper Bugongi ward, Northern Division of Kabale Municipality, woke up to shocking news today after a man was discovered dead under unclear circumstances.
According to a report filed at Kabale Police Station, the lifeless body of Nsenga, a well-known resident of Upper Bugongi, was found lying in an open field during the early hours of May 14, 2025. The discovery was made by Byaruhanga Phillip, a 40-year-old welder from the neighboring Pida cell, who reported the incident to local authorities after noticing blood oozing from the deceased’s mouth and nose.
Police, led by the Acting District Criminal Investigations Department (D/CID) Officer, responded promptly to the scene along with Scenes of Crime Officers (Socos), homicide detectives, and the canine (K-9) unit. Unfortunately, the K-9 dog failed to trace any suspects or critical evidence due to heavy rains that had affected the area.
The body was retrieved and transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Police spokesperson for Kigezi Region, ASP Maate Elly, confirmed the incident and called upon the public to assist with any information that could help identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
Investigations are ongoing.
