Residents from five villages in Rubaya sub-county Kashari south Mbarara district who have been sharing water with animals now are filled with joy after accessing safe and clean water courtesy of the district woman leader Mrs. Loydah Twinomujuni Kyarikunda.
The villages which have been suffering for the past two months after their Rubaya solar-powered water system broke down include Bunenero, Rugarama, Ekitete, Ruyonza, Rubaya, Rukukuru, and part of the Kabwera cell.
This was disclosed at a colorful function when the Mbarara district woman councilor representing Rubaya sub-county and member of the district works sectoral committee Mrs. Loyda Twinomujuni Muhimbura Kyarikunda was officially handing over repaired Rubaya solar-powered water system with steady water running.
Mrs Loydah Twinomujuni says she was approached by local Council leaders requesting help to reinstate their water supply which had faults in the pumping system and answered their call by donating over shs 6 million to buy equipment and labor for repair
The Mbarara district councilor representing Rubaya sub county Julius Bishanga hailed his counterpart Mrs. Loyda Twinomujuni Muhimbura Kyarikunda for donating money to repair their solar-powered system.
The chairperson Rubaya sub county Kashari South Mugarura John appreciated the woman’s district councilor for the donation saying that the government has remained with the challenge of replacing damaged solar panels.
