Rushenyi County Member of Parliament, Ms. Naome Kabasharira, has advised constituents to avoid lifestyle changes after receiving money from government projects, noting that such changes can hinder progress and capital accumulation. Speaking at the conclusion of a one-day dialogue facilitated by Enterprise Uganda at Rubaare Secondary School in Ntungamo District on Friday, she observed that many people alter their spending habits upon receiving money, which often leads to increased indebtedness as they fail to retain their previous financial discipline.
Ms. Kabasharira emphasized that this issue can be mitigated by maintaining prudent thinking during both challenges and celebrations, limiting borrowing, and spending only on essential items rather than following trends.
Judith Akullo, the marketing executive of Enterprise Uganda, urged attendees to practice spending discipline and set clear business goals. The dialogue was a follow-up to the 2023 training held at Kyamate, which included participants from Ntungamo Municipality and Rushenyi constituencies.
Several attendees highlighted the benefits gained from the initial training and requested the government to ensure a stable economy and consistent prices of goods to support entrepreneurial success.
