The Mitooma grade one magistrate court, led by His Worship Deogracious Tendo, has ordered the remand of Fara Atwijire, the parish chief for Katanda parish, until May 30th, 2024. Atwijire faces allegations of utilizing falsified documents to secure employment.

The prosecution, represented by Mitooma District Chief Administrative Officer Sharifah Nakintu and Mitooma District Service Commission Chairman Sam Karakuza, informed the court that they were compelled to interdict the accused following a report from the Inspector General Of Government. This report followed investigations revealing that Atwijire had tampered with his S.4 results, which he used to secure the position of parish chief, differing from his original documents obtained from Mayanga seed school in Mitooma.

According to the prosecution, Atwijire has served as a parish chief for four years, receiving a government salary of 420,000 shillings monthly. Consequently, he is expected to reimburse the misappropriated funds.
