Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, the Minister of Finance (General Duties), offered heartfelt tributes to Matilda Tumubweine, the mother of Rubanda District LC5 Chairman, praising her unwavering dedication to her family and loyalty to the National Resistance Movement Party.
During a solemn gathering at Kakore Rugabwa Catholic Parish, Catheline Atwakiire Ndamira, the Chief Mourner and Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, conveyed Minister Musasizi’s condolences to Dr. Augustine Kasyaba’s family for the loss of his beloved wife, Matilda Tumubweine Kasyaba. The funeral Mass, presided over by the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese, Msgr John Vianney Sunday, was attended by thousands of mourners.
While Minister Musasizi is currently leading a government delegation in meetings with the World Bank and IMF in Washington, US, he expressed profound sympathy and apologized to the grieving family, particularly to Matilda’s children, including Rubanda District LC5 Chairman, Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba.
Minister Musasizi commended the family for their devoted care of Matilda during her illness and praised her dedication to her family and the National Resistance Movement party.
During his homily, Msgr John Vianney Sunday urged mourners to deepen their faith and embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ, highlighting Matilda’s strong faith and devotion as exemplified in her reception of the Eucharist.
Matilda Tumubweine Kasyaba, aged 83, passed away on Friday morning due to lung cancer at Kisubi Hospital in Kampala. A former teacher at Horny High School for visually impaired students, she was laid to rest at her ancestral home in Hakakondogoro cell, Hamurwa Town Council, Rubanda District, the previous evening.
