Police in Bushenyi District are currently searching for a middle-aged man who works as a bodaboda rider, following allegations of murder.

The incident occurred on 13/04/2024 at approximately 5:00 PM at Omukasusano Trading Centre, Kitagata Parish, Kyeizooba Sub-county, in Bushenyi District.

Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi Police, has identified the suspect as Felix Twebaze, a resident of Rwemihingo Village, Buyanja Parish, Kyeizooba Sub-county in Bushenyi District, who works as a bodaboda rider.

Tumusiime further identified the deceased as Nathan Byakureka, aged 25, a casual worker and resident of Kabuba village, Kitagata Parish, Kyeizooba Sub-county in Bushenyi District.

It’s alleged that on 13/04/2024 around 5:00 PM, the deceased encountered Twebaze Felix, a bodaboda rider, at Omukasusano trading center. During their interaction, the deceased reportedly questioned Twebaze about his use of an old motorcycle, which angered him. Twebaze allegedly responded by striking the deceased twice on the head.

In an attempt to escape further harm, the deceased fled the scene. However, Twebaze reportedly grabbed a large brick and struck the deceased on the back.

Twesigye Albert, chairman of LC. I Kabuba Village recounted that after the incident, the deceased returned home in severe pain. On 14/04/2024, at around 6:30 AM, he was discovered deceased in his bed.

Tumusiime stated that the body was transported to Kitagata General Hospital mortuary in Sheema District for postmortem examination.
