During a mass held at Kings Hotel in Kyamakanda Parish, Rev. Father Conrad Atuhaire, the Parish Priest of Nyakibale Catholic Church, urged parents to prioritize the baptism of their children after saints for their spiritual guidance. His message came while presiding over a mass organized by the Denis Family for the official launch of the Denis Family Association.

The Denis Family Association aims to unite all men named Denis and their spouses in the district, fostering community, commemorating their patron, Saint Denis, on October 9, and promoting collective development for their families.

In his homily, Father Atuhaire commended the association’s efforts, highlighting the significance of their name. He encouraged members to emulate their patron saint by instilling Christian values in their children, prioritizing saintly names, and supporting one another to create a better world.

Denis Ngabirano, Chairperson of the LC3 Southern Division and the Denis Family, assured attendees that the association was initiated to create a collective voice for commemorating their saint, uniting families with the same name, and providing mutual financial support.

Denis Kamutera, a local coffee trader, emphasized the association’s goal of empowering the disadvantaged through seed capital for development and encouraged non-members to register to enjoy the association’s benefits.

Businessman Denis Tibakanya Kabaka praised the association for bringing together dedicated members who celebrate their patron saint’s day with enthusiasm, while also offering financial services to support families.

Dafroza Katabazi, wife of Denis Katabazi, expressed gratitude for the financial assistance received, which has facilitated school fees and investment opportunities.

On October 9, the church celebrates the feast of Saint Denis, the patron of musicians, who was martyred for preaching the Gospel in a royal court, alongside Saint Denis of France, a bishop who also faced martyrdom for his faith.
