Police in Kabale are currently searching for a 25-year-old suspect accused of fatally assaulting his 29-year-old biological brother, Alexander Arimpisya, both residents of Upper Bugongi Cell in Northern Division, Kabale Municipality.
According to reports, the incident occurred on March 31, 2024, around 08:00 hours at Upper Bugongi Cell. Allegedly, the suspect struck his brother on the head with a spade, resulting in immediate death.
It is further claimed that the deceased had previously experienced conflicts with their mother, and on the day of the incident, he attempted to harm her with the spade. The suspect intervened, wrestled the spade away, and inadvertently struck his brother on the head, causing fatal injuries.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the area vice-chairperson, Richard Mugabi, alerted Kabale police, who promptly responded. The scene of the crime was investigated, and documented, and relevant statements were taken. The body was then transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
While the suspect remains at large, law enforcement authorities are diligently working to apprehend him and bring him to justice. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
