Police in Sheema District is holding a 37year old man for allegedly killing his twin sister.
Isaac Muhangi aged 37 a twin brother to the deceased and a resident of Bubare cell Kyabandara ward Sheema Central Division in the Sheema District was arrested by police on charges of murder.
Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Spacious Komuhangi 37 years a resident of the same address.
Tumusiime explains that on 5/04/2023 at around 2:00 PM the suspect found his twin sister sleeping in her bed, he started assaulting her using his walking stick, accusing her of refusing to prepare food for him.
The deceased struggled and ran to her younger brothers’ house for safety and at around 6:00 the young brother decided to take her to Kyabandara police post and reported the case of assault and was advised to seek for medical assistance from Kabwohe health center IV.
On 15th April 2023 she was referred to Mbarara Referral Hospital for more medical assistance however she was pronounced dead at around 3:00 PM on 16th April 2023.
Tumusiime said that a case of assault was entered at Kyabandara police post and the suspect arrested.
The body of the deceased was conveyed to Kabwohe health center IV for postmortem as inquiries are ongoing.
