Maama Florence Asiimwe, the wife of the North Kigezi Diocesan Bishop, emphasized the importance of love, commitment, and respect in building strong families. She made these remarks at a one-day Mothers Union workshop held at Riverside Hotel in Rukungiri Municipality, Eastern Division, attended by couples from Rwanyanja Church of Uganda, Bugangari Archdeaconry.

In her address, Maama Florence highlighted the need for couples to renew their marital commitment through cooperation and unity. She pointed out that overcoming prevalent family challenges often requires addressing disunity among couples. She encouraged the women in the Mothers Union to embrace their roles with integrity and called on men to maintain their initial love and respect for their wives, warning against the detrimental impact of rumors fueled by outsiders.

She also expressed gratitude to the Mothers Union leaders of Rwanyanja Church of Uganda for organizing such workshops, which help to refresh love and commitment in marriage.

Rev. Ronald Natuhwera, the North Kigezi Diocesan Fathers Union Coordinator, urged couples to dedicate time to their families and submit to one another. He noted that many families separate due to a lack of quality time spent together. Rev. Natuhwera also encouraged Christians to invite Christ into their homes, as He is the cornerstone of peace and happiness. He advised women to find ways to involve their partners in church activities to strengthen their faith.

Rev. Richard Kwehangana, the parish priest of Rwanyanja Church of Uganda, and Boaz Rutera, the Bugangari Archdeaconry head of laity, thanked the women for organizing the workshop. They called on all participants to embrace unity and togetherness in their families.

Sister Jane Bangaowakyi, the Mothers Union leader of Rwanyanja Parish, expressed her appreciation to the men who attended the workshop with their wives. She noted that the event provided valuable education and guidance on family development from various speakers, including Maama Florence Asiimwe.

The workshop was attended by over 65 couples, who committed to maintaining strong, God-fearing families.
