On January 26, 2024, the residents of Kitoha Cell in Kigiro Parish, Kebisoni Sub County, and Kitoha Cell in the Eastern Ward of Kebisoni Town Council, located in Rukungiri District, were the recipients of culverts generously donated by Nuwagaba Annah Tumuramye. The purpose of the donation is to facilitate the construction of Kitoha Bridge.
The event was witnessed by notable figures from Kebisoni Sub County, including Chairperson LC3 Charles Kahanyi, District Councilor James Turyamubona, and Sub County Finance Secretary, who also serves as the NRM Chairperson, George Ruraka Byarugaba, among others.
Annah Nuwagaba Tumuramye expressed satisfaction in fulfilling her pledge promptly to expedite the bridge construction. She encouraged the community to embrace unity as a fundamental tool for development.
Charles Kahanyi, the Chairperson LC3 of Kebisoni Sub County, acknowledged the persistent challenge of Kitoha Bridge dating back to 2006. He commended Annah Nuwagaba Tumuramye for her advocacy and appealed for continued cooperation to ensure the project’s completion.
George Ruraka Byarugaba, the Finance Secretary of Kebisoni Sub County, described the culvert donation as impactful and highlighted its official recording in the financial records for accountability.
Turyamureeba Adam Karaka, the Councilor representing Kigiro Parish, expressed gratitude to Annah Nuwagaba Tumuramye for her culvert donation and called on other well-wishers to join in supporting the community’s efforts to complete the bridge.
Salongo Asuman Kafureeka Kwesiga, the Chairperson LC1 of Kitoha Cell, appreciated the Sub County for actively seeking support from benefactors and pledged commitment to the successful completion of the bridge.
Pastor Posiano Nimusiima, a resident living near the bridge, expressed gratitude for the support received and urged fellow residents to cultivate a friendly relationship with Hon Annah while emphasizing the importance of maintaining the road for long-lasting quality.
During the culvert handover ceremony, Tumuhimbise Night, the Personal Assistant of Andrew Nuwabiine, delivered three bags of cement donated by Andrew Nuwabiine.
