As part of the Lent period of giving to the needy, helping others, and praying for the sick, the Kashenyi Senior Secondary School Scripture Union club visited Rugarama Health Center IV in Rukungiri Municipality.

During the visit, students from Kashenyi Secondary School, led by their chaplain, gave out various items such as soaps, sugar, rice, and many other essentials to both patients and staff members as a form of support. They also prayed for the sick and the hospital staff.

Davis Amanya, speaking on behalf of the Scripture Union students, shared that although they didn’t have much as students, they sacrificed what they had in order to be a blessing during this Lent period. He also advised fellow youth to always pray to the Almighty and to cultivate a heart for helping and giving to the needy.

Rebecca Nabimanya, a nurse at Rugarama, expressed her gratitude to Kashenyi Secondary School for their visit. She thanked the students for praying for the sick and hospital staff and for the generous donations they made. She continued by saying that at Rugarama, they remain committed to providing services, and as a church-founded hospital, prayer to the Almighty God is their first priority, followed by treatment.

Reverend Brendah Ayebare Tugume, the chaplain of Kashenyi Secondary School, explained that they chose to visit Rugarama as it represents a sacrifice to help the needy. This visit aligns with their tradition of supporting various groups, especially those in need. Reverend Brendah revealed that each individual gave what they could willingly, and she expressed appreciation to the headteacher for supporting the group with transport.

Reverend Edinah Arinaitwe, the chaplain of Rugarama Health Center IV, thanked the Almighty for safely bringing the visitors to the center. She also praised the group, led by their chaplain, for their heart of giving. She continued by advising people to practice the good habit of giving to the needy, especially during the Lent period.
