Police in Kanungu is investigating the case of Aggravated Homosexuality.
The troubling incident took place on July 23, 2024, around 05:00 PM at the Tungwa grazing field in Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County according to Kabagambe Fred, 53, Area Chairperson, Nyabushoro Cell, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County who reported the matter to police.
The victim is a 12-year-old boy, a resident of Nyabushoro Cell, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County while the suspect is Ainembabazi Edison, 23, a resident of Mashoko Cell, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County.
It is alleged that, on 23/07/2024 the victim, along with two peers, Kosi and Muteta, was grazing cattle on government land when they encountered the suspect hiding in the bush, the suspect rushed and grabbed the victim, undressed him, and forcefully started having sexual intercourse through the anus.
A case of aggravated Homosexuality was reported at Nyamirama Police Station. Police responded by visiting the crime scene, collecting statements from witnesses, and arresting the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be brought before the court once inquiries are complete.
