Kanungu District Khadi, Sheik Abdallah Mpabuka, has called on parents and stakeholders across the district to nurture their children responsibly to secure a brighter future for the next generation.

Sheik Mpabuka made these remarks during a special gathering of Muslim leaders at Riverside Mosque in Bugarambiro Cell, Central Ward, Nyakabungo Town Council. The event brought together Muslim leaders from all over Kanungu District to discuss key issues including development, unity, education, and spiritual growth.

Highlighting the importance of education, the Khadi described it as a vital tool in shaping responsible and influential leaders of tomorrow. He urged parents to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to schooling. Additionally, he encouraged the faithful to remain grounded in their faith, embrace God’s love, and allow divine guidance to protect them in their daily lives.

Nshekanabo Gasheka, a prominent Muslim leader, updated the congregation on the ongoing construction of the Riverside Mosque and plans to renovate several other mosques within Kanungu Town Council to better serve the growing Muslim population.

Abudallah Nzigilah, District Chairperson of the Muslim Supreme Council, emphasized the need for development and hard work as foundations for growth. He called on the Muslim community to foster unity across the entire district to enhance development and service delivery.

Sheik Mpabuka also cautioned against political and religious divisions, warning against individuals promoting tribalism, clannism, or partisan conflicts, which he said hinder progress. He urged respect for religious freedom and unity among the faithful.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous call for cooperation, unity, and collective responsibility to improve the spiritual and socio-economic well-being of Kanungu’s Muslim community.
