A Kampala-based newspaper has apologized to Justice Andrew Basheija for staining his reputation by publishing a false allegation that a dead body was found at the home of the Justice of the High court
The Ono Bwino Publication through its lawyers Nabukenya, Mulalira & Co. Advocates, in a letter, dated 04th July 2022 says it published a story guided by a statement from Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate on Monday 06th June 2022 containing the said allegations
The newspaper now says it has come to the realization that the allegations made against Dr. Bashaija K. Andrew were untrue.
It further states that it deeply regrets the said publications and apologises to him, his family, and friends for the damage the story caused and unconditionally retracts the statements made against Dr. Bashaija K. Andrew.
The newspaper has also unreservedly apologized to him for the harm it caused him.
