One person has died on the spot whereas another is nursing injuries at Kabale regional referral hospital following a collision between a Trailer and a Lorry at Kabaraga , in Kabale district.
According to The Kigezi region Police spokesman Elly Maate, the crash involved a Semi-trailer bearing registration numbers UBA 001Y/UAD 886D blue in color driven by Mubiru Edward of Nabingo and Isuzu ELF lorry registration number UAL 459Q blue in color driven by one Barnat Kuhoshaho, a resident of Kyanamira trading center, Kyanamira subcounty county Kabale district.
Kushoshaho sustained injuries and was rushed to Kabale referral hospital while Richard Hamujuni 42, a resident of Kakyihumbwe village Kyanamira sub-county who was a passenger in vehicle number UAL 459Q, died on spot.
Maate says the accident occurred today 21/7/22 at about 09:00 AM at Kabaraga hill along the Kabale- Mbarara road.
The scene was visited by Oc traffic Ip Twinobuhamizo, the body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary where a post-mortem was done and handed over to relatives for burial.
Both vehicles have been towed to police pending IOV inspection.
Maate attributed the accident to reckless driving on the part of the Isuzu Elf driver.
